Data portability & switching information

Dagster Labs supports customer data portability and switching in accordance with applicable law, including the EU Data Act. This page provides general information regarding Dagster Labs' approach to data portability and switching, including the categories of data that may be available for export, typical formats, and factors that may affect migration.

1. Exportable Data

Customers may request the export of certain data (“Exportable Data”), which generally includes data generated by or directly associated with the customer's use of the Dagster service, subject to applicable law and technical feasibility.

  • Customer generated data stored within the platform
  • Customer configuration data

2. Data Not Included in Exports

The following are not considered exportable data:

  • Proprietary software or source code
  • Trade secrets or confidential business processes
  • Raw event data from the platform

Dagster Labs reserves the right to exclude additional data where disclosure would create security, legal, or confidentiality risks.

3. Supported Export Formats

Exportable data are generally available in one or more of the following formats:

  • CSV
  • JSON
  • Parquet

4. Data Export Timeline

Following receipt of a complete switching request, Dagster Labs typically provides Exportable Data within an estimated timeframe of 1–25 business days. The exact timeline may vary depending on the volume of requested data, the complexity of the export, and operational considerations at the time of the request.

5. Resources Provided by Dagster

During a switching request, Dagster Labs may provide reasonable assistance, which may include:

  • Technical support to facilitate data exports
  • Coordination through the customer's Account Manager
  • Assistance with secure data transfer where technically feasible

Customers are responsible for importing exported data into their own systems or the systems of a destination provider.

6. Requesting a Switching or Data Export

Customers who wish to switch providers, migrate to their own infrastructure, or request deletion of exportable data may submit a switching request by contacting their account managers. Once we receive your request, we will confirm receipt and work with you to gather any additional information needed to process your request.

7. Technical Considerations for Switching

Dagster+ is a cloud-based orchestration platform with proprietary architecture, configurations, and integrations. As a result, migrating to another service or environment may require significant technical effort, including reconfiguration, transformation of data, and redevelopment of workflows.

The feasibility, complexity, and outcome of any migration will depend on the customer's specific implementation and the capabilities of the destination environment.
